The B-25 Mitchell was possibly the best and the most important tactical medium bomber design of World War II. It was named in honor of the late General Billy Mitchell, who is considered the father of modern American air power. Designed by a company with no previous experience with bombers or high performance aircraft the B-25 was to become one of the most successful American twin-engine bomber of World War Two.
